Malacca is small colonial city southeast of KL and presents a perfect stopover on the way from KL to Singapore.
How to get to Malacca from Kuala Lumpur
There are several daily buses doing this route. Prebooking is not necessary, go to the BTS terminal in KL and simply catch the next available bus. The journey takes about 2 hours.

Malacca is, like many of the coastal cities in this part of the world, a place that was under portuguese, dutch and finally british governance for a long time. One of Its main features is the oldest catholic church in South East Asia, which was accomplished in 1590 by the Portuguese.
Things to do
- There are many museums in this lovely little town telling tales about its history.
- Jonker Street is basically the Chinatown of this city. You’ll find the usual mix of food and shops, as well as an impressive Chinese Dragon floating over the entrance to this street.
- St Pauls church, the ruins of the oldest church in south east asia.
